Spa:
Literal head to toe pampering provides pure pleasure at the Shakama Wellness Centre. Here, guests can enjoy relaxation and rejuvenation therapies for the whole body - face and feet included. There is also an extensive menu of touch therapies, all offered by experienced therapists to ensure complete restoration of body and mind.
A sauna and Jacuzzi complete the spa experience and, of course, all therapies are done amidst the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature. Use of the Sauna and Jacuzzi is charged at R 150.00 per hours' use. Guests having treatments at the spa can use these facilities for free. Guests who are not having spa treatments at the spa at the time they request to use the Jacuzzi will be charged
Accomodation:
The lodgings at Shakama include twelve suites, of which two are located in the main building and eight pairs nestled against a slope overlooking the valley. Six of these chalet suites also have outdoor showers in addition to the en-suite bathrooms.
High up, on the top of the hill the newly renovated self-catering camp, Eagles Camp, is located. Eagles can sleep up to eight people and is only rented out as a unit on either a self-catering or accommodation only basis. The self-catering camp consists of two en-suite "split level" cottages, the communal kitchen and lapa, complete the circle.
All suites have private decks overlooking a ravine of unspoilt nature. Fine linen, tasteful interior decoration inspired by the natural environment and high thatched ceilings, all combine to create a feeling of comfort and bliss. Please note: Due to the slopes on which chalets were built, stairs between different floor levels may not make the accommodation suitable for physically handicapped persons.
Wildlife:
Shakama Lodge lies in the heart of the 6000 hectare Waterberg Estate Reserve offering abundant game and bird viewing opportunity. The reserve does not offer the 'Big 5' as yet, but rhino, hippo and over 20 other indigenous game species roam the estate. Shakama is ideally suited for eco-tourism offering clear views of game and an endless variety of natural habitat. Experience giraffe, hippo, impala and other indigenous game species from the luxury of a game drive or on foot with a guided walk
Important Information
-Shakama falls in a malaria-free area
-The farm is not a "Big 5" property
-Children under the age of 12 are not permitted at the lodge, UNLESS they are part of a group using the lodge exclusively.
-Please take note that the drive to Shakama includes 19km’s of dirt road, care should be taken to drive at slow speeds, and it is recommended to guests to use vehicles with a higher ground clearance than ordinary sedan vehicles

-Rates are subject to change without notice
-A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation and we request that the deposit slip is faxed to us, the balance is payable along with any extras when departing from the lodge unless other arrangements have been made.

Spa Cancellation Policy:
-When cancelling a reservation an administration fee of at least 25% will be charged with further cancellation costs incurred determined by time of notice given.

Directions: From Pretoria
-Take N1 to Polokwane
-Take Warmbaths/Bela Bela to the left
-Turn right at T-junction as you reach town. Cross the bridge over railway line and turn left at the robot just after crossing the bridge.
-Approximately100m further this road will make a 90 degree turn to the right, reaching a T-Junction with Chris Hani drive a further 100m after the turn
-Turn left into Chris Hani Drive
-50m after the Aventura Forever Resorts Entrance to your left, turn right into Grobler Street, also marked Elandsfontein, Rankins Pass, Alma. (Grobeler Street becomes Robertson Street)
-Drive through suburb and stay on this road for approx 25km (tar ends after 10km)
-Find Shakama gate on your left
-Drive on 'main' track for approx 3.5km to lodge
